Upon completion of the course, you will be placed in one of the following certification levels, depending on your professional experience:

FAQ coating inspector

FROSIO is an organisation founded in Norway in 1986 for quality assurance in corrosion protection and surface treatment with the highest international reputation. The training and certification of coating inspectors is one of its core tasks.

With the help of our online platforms and our multimedia learning materials you can determine the duration of the theoretical part flexibly and completely independent of time and location. Only for the practical part is your presence on site necessary. The attendance time including examination time is 4 working days.

The SLV Duisburg is the only approved training body in Germany for the certification as FROSIO coating inspector. The presence part of the e-learning variant takes place at the SLV Duisburg.

It counts as work experience if you have carried out activities in the following areas:
  • Pretreatment of metallic and other surfaces
  • Application of coating materials, coatings and metallic overlays for corrosion protection and inspection of such work
  • Planning, construction and maintenance of steel structures, ships, power plants, water and offshore structures, road and railway bridges and industrial plants
Further experience in corrosion protection can also be gained in coating workshops, building protection, material testing etc.

It is possible to start with e-learning at any time, as the theoretical part of the course can be completed independently. You can decide when you want to take the attendance part and the exams at any time after the start of the e-learning course.
